Intensity filtering

Settings > Advanced Feature > Intensity Filtering

Intensity filtering

Intensity Filtering option sets a minimum intensity threshold that a lidar point has to meet to be processed. This filtering can be useful to filter out noise from dust, exhaust fumes and falling leaves for example.

The correct setting will be different for each lidar. There is no common way to calculate and report intensity, so the values can be very different between lidars.

Try to start low and increase the value to see the behavior change. As an example, for a Livox Horizon, a value as low as three(3) will filter out most dust and exhaust.

Tuning this value through the sensor settings interface can be quite time consuming so turn and tweak values with the window Settings > Advanced Feature > Intensity filtering which is accesible in both sensor setup mode and runtime mode.
