Auto Fine-tuning
Auto Fine-tuning calibrates the target LiDAR to match more accurately with the reference LiDAR(s) without any additional information. This feature increases further the accuracy of a first manual calibration. It calibrates the target LiDAR most appropriately using the distances between the point clouds of the target LiDAR and the ones of the reference LiDAR(s).
Prerequisites
- Data coming from at least two LiDARs.
- At least one LiDAR is calibrated using Ground Alignment or Manual Calibration to be used as reference LiDAR(s).
- Rough manual calibration was performed to the target LiDAR.
- The actual overlapping region of 2 point clouds is large enough to find the optimal solution.
Steps
Click
Tool > QuickTune > Auto Fine-tuning
.Select the target LiDAR that you want to calibrate.
Select the reference LiDAR(s) that you have already calibrated.
- At least one LiDAR should be added as reference LiDAR.
- *Note: the quality of the Auto fine-tuning varies depending on the overlap area between LiDARs*Click "Launch" button when you are done with selecting reference LiDARs.
Calibration results will be shown. Make sure LiDARs are well-calibrated by clicking "Hold to show original points" button and comparing the changes.
Click "Apply" button to save the calibration result.
